Rain drops on Roses....
Roses, roses, roses. Any decent cake decorator needs to master the skills of making roses, or so I am told. So we practice and practice and practice. Rose buds, half roses and full blown 3D piped roses.
They are beautiful though, so I can understand the attraction. There is nothing like a cake decorated with roses on top. Piping them out of icing is not as hard as I thought it would be, it is tricky, but not hard. The trick is on the rotation of the nail and on the pressure on the piping bag; keep it steady and slow otherwise the rose slides out of the nail.
I practiced with white on white because the time at class is short. This week, at home, I will practice with colors.
