The Beginning is the Hardest Part

So I am officially ending day 2 of MyPlate experience, and oh boy has this been interesting.

First of all, I would like to say that if you compute all the different servings of all types of food, eating according to MyPlate is actually s lot of food.

The trick is to choose your calories wisely and timely. After 2 days, I have not been able to eat all that I am supposed to, and what I am finding out is that my food distribution throughout the day is not well balanced.

That is the challenge, for the next coming days. I need to start distributing the nutrients, so that I don't end up with a long list of foods to eat at night, which is the wrong thing to do.

Just to give you an idea, this is how my graph looks like for the first 2 days:

All bars need to be at 100% at the end of the day, and as you can see, I have not mastered that yet. Today the grains and veggies were more stable, but my protein and fruits are too low, and dairy non-existent.

I am definitely not much of a protein person, so I need to work on that. And I am definitely not a dairy person. If the only point of the dairy category is the Calcium intake, I am going to have to compensate that through vegetables.

Tomorrow is another day, I think I know how to approach it differently from the start. Will share results later.

Have a great evening,

Alex
